Land your dream Internship while in College!

Hello friends! If you didn't know, I am currently a senior in college! (I know, I'm getting old right?!)

This past year has been a bit of a roller coaster for a lot of us with covid and living through a global pandemic! My university went mainly remote and my senior year looked quite different than I expected but none the less I was able to land a remote internship in the fall, and a paid remote internship this spring! I'm going to share with you all how I was able to do it!

Touch up your resume:

You may think your resume is perfect but you know what? Get it checked anyway! Most universities will have an office where you can get your resume checked for free and I recommend taking full advantage of this! My university uses handshake(https://joinhandshake.com/) and I was able to get my resume reviewed and critiqued for free! I thought my resume looked great but turned out there was so much wrong with it that had to be fixed. The job market is competitive and you want to make sure your resume looks amazing!

Network:

College is a great place to network and meet new people! The first internship that I landed, I found in my sorority group chat and decided to apply to it! Going greek is a great way to meet people and build connections! You can also find other organizations on your campus outside of greek life to join and get involved with! More connections= More opportunities! So don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone

Do your research:

So you got your resume critiqued, networked, and started to submit your resume to different companies? Make sure that you do your research on every company that you apply to and get an understanding of what they are looking for in an intern. It also helps to look up interview questions and make sure that you're going into your interview prepared! Perfecting your resume is step one, nailing the interview is step two!
